The reason we keep “bitching over and over again about the same things” is because these things need to change, and they aren’t. What if I kept belittling you, and you asked me to stop. And I continued, so you complained about it again. Would that mean you’re bitching over and over again about the same thing, so I should automatically devalue your complaint? When a complaint persists, there’s a reason. The offense hasn’t stopped.
Feminism is in no way sexist. It’s the simple belief that women should be equal to men. Just because we can own property and vote and work the same jobs doesn’t mean we are equally treated in society. A huge indicator of this existing inequality is the way we’re portrayed in media, especially in advertisements and music videos.
A man is never going to LOSE rights just because we demand ours. However, our rights are often at the mercy of men, such as our right to choose what to do with our bodies, our right to go to the police after being sexually assaulted without having to worry about whether or not we’re going to be blamed ourselves, and the fact that there is still sex discrimination in the workplace.
Honestly, I don’t understand why YOU are upset that I am upset, but it feels a lot like you’re trying to silence my valid concerns. Stop.
